Garda\u00ed recovered 87,000 street tablets <\/strong>and a kilogramme of cannabis<\/strong> \u2013 worth almost \u20ac200,000 \u2013 in a raid<\/strong> at a Dublin apartment<\/strong> on Wednesday, a court has heard.<\/p>\n

Gavin Guinan Cahill <\/strong>(48) and Rebecca McEnroe <\/strong>(45) have been remanded in custody pending directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>\n

Guinan Cahill of Lisadel Road, Crumlin, Dublin, and McEnroe were charged with possessing the drugs for sale or supply at her home on New Street, Dublin 8, on May 13th.<\/p>\n

It follows an operation by the Dublin South Central drugs units.<\/p>\n

The combined value of the drugs was over \u20ac198,000, Judge Michele Finan heard at Dublin District Court.<\/p>\n

Garda Niamh McGoldrick and Darragh Frewen objected to bail and would not agree to their release with conditions.<\/p>\n

The officers told the court that they had a warrant to search McEnroe’s apartment, and that garda\u00ed gained entry by force.<\/p>\n

Garda McGoldrick said Guinan Cahill was caught red-handed and was asleep in the apartment close to some of the drugs.<\/p>\n

The court heard they were allegedly found in a kitchen, living room, the main bedroom, and a spare bedroom, including in wardrobes and a bedside locker.<\/p>\n

Garda Frewen alleged there were weighing scales and bagging, and that documentation showed McEnroe was the tenant.<\/p>\n

Her solicitor proposed that she reside at an alternative address, but Garda Frewen rejected it, saying it was a location of material interest in this investigation.<\/p>\n

Defence solicitor Damien Coffey said his client, Guinan Cahill, was a vulnerable person who was preyed on by others. He is to receive attention in custody after the judge noted he was on a lot of medication.<\/p>\n

They have yet to enter pleas and will appear again next week.<\/p>\n

Judge Finan refused bail.
