‘Seeing some football\u2026’<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We’re here in Mexico City and loving every minute of it,’ says The Edge. “As supporters of Street Child United, we wanted to come along today and support this great cause, see some football and soak up the atmosphere. There’s no better town to host such a brilliant event.”<\/p>\n

Street Child United<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is a youth-led global movement working to change how the world sees, treats, and protects street-connected young people.\u00a0Mexico City is host to the 2026 Street Child World Cup Tournament, with 30 teams from across the globe in town for the 6th-14th May event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Adam, Edge, Larry and Bono met with John Wroe and Judy Reith of Street Child United<\/strong> and, wearing the tournament shirt, Larry was on hand to toss the coin before\u00a0the final at Parque Ecol\u00f3gico Lago de Texcoco… dryly recalling his Dublin roots, “Once a north side tosser always a north side tosser!”\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 2026 tournament is in partnership with F\u00fatbol M\u00e1s M\u00e9xico<\/a><\/strong>, a non-profit organization operating in Mexico since 2017 that uses soccer as a tool for social development, resilience building, and promoting well-being among children in vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n

The band are in town to shoot a video\u00a0for a new track, ‘Street of Dreams<\/a><\/strong>‘,\u00a0taken from their yet-to-be announced next studio album, due for release later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
