Kiefer Sutherland<\/a> has been forced to cancel the US leg of his tour due to \u201cvery low ticket sales\u201d.<\/p>\n

The\u00a024\u00a0actor is also a singer-songwriter and is preparing to release his fourth solo album \u2018Grey\u2019 on May 29 via Maple Creek\u00a0Records, and\u00a0had been\u00a0due to take the record on tour around the US later this summer.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0on Friday (May 15), Sutherland posted on his Instagram account to confirm that the US dates will no longer go ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith great disappointment I am going to have to cancel the US leg of my tour due to very\u00a0low ticket\u00a0sales,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0think\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0fair to the people who have bought tickets, or the venues, to play to half empty houses.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to say that he \u201clooks forward\u201d to touring in the US again \u201cat a more suitable time\u201d,\u00a0and informed fans with tickets that they will be able to access refunds from their point of purchase.<\/p>\n

Sutherland is currently in the UK and Ireland playing dates on his \u2018Love Will Bring You Home\u2019 tour, with dates in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff, Exeter, Bournemouth, Oxford and Leeds before the end of the month \u2013 find any remaining tickets for those shows here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are two North American shows still scheduled to go ahead \u2013 at Las Vegas\u2019 Durango Casino & Resort on July 2 and in Saguenay, Quebec on July 11.<\/p>\n

Sutherland, who is best known as an actor for his roles in\u00a024,\u00a0Stand\u00a0By\u00a0Me,\u00a0A Few Good Men\u00a0and\u00a0The Lost Boys, has spoken about his new album, saying the songs \u201cmark a growth for me personally, as I wrote less about observations and more about personal feelings that I have been navigating in my own life\u201d.<\/p>\n

In January,\u00a0he was arrested after allegedly physically assaulting a ride-share driver and making criminal threats<\/a>\u00a0in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

Sutherland is far from the only artist to have to cancel shows because of weak ticket sales recently. Earlier this month,\u00a0The Pussycat Dolls cancelled all but one of the North American shows on their tour<\/a>,\u00a0Others to cancel strings of dates \u2013 although not explicitly due to ticket sales \u2013 include\u00a0Zayn Malik<\/a>,\u00a0Neil Young<\/a>, and\u00a0Post Malone and Jelly Roll<\/a>.<\/p>\n
