Surely one of the hottest projects hitting the Cannes market this year is \u201cTomorrow Is a Drag,\u201d the anticipated comeback of Oscar-winning filmmaker Kenneth Lonergan with a starry ensemble led by Aubrey Plaza (\u201cParks and Recreation,\u201d \u201cIngrid Goes West,\u201d \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d) alongside Academy Award nominees Adam Driver (\u201cStar Wars\u201d franchise, \u201cPaper Tiger,\u201d \u201cMarriage Story\u201d) and Vanessa Kirby (\u201cMission Impossible\u201d franchise, \u201cPieces of a Woman,\u201d \u201cThe Crown\u201d) and Matthew Broderick (\u201cManchester by the Sea\u201d, \u201cThe Producers\u201d).<\/p>\n
\u201cTomorrow Is a Drag\u201d marks Lonergan\u2019s first directorial effort since \u201cManchester by the Sea,\u201d which won Casey Affleck an Oscar for best actor and an Oscar for original screenplay, as well as a best director nomination.<\/p>\n

MK2 Films is at Cannes with 11 features across the official selection, including five in competition: Marie Kreutzer\u2019s \u201cGentle Monster,\u201d\u00a0L\u00e9a Mysius\u2019 \u201cThe Birthday Party,\u201d Andrey Zvyagintsev\u2019s \u201cMinotaur,\u201d Ira Sachs\u2019 \u201cThe Man I Love\u201d and\u00a0Koji Fukada\u2019s \u201cNagi Notes.\u201d<\/p>\n Plot details are being kept under wraps, though the title hints at the writer-director\u2019s signature blend of humor and touching character study that defined \u201cManchester by the Sea,\u201d as well as \u201cMargaret\u201d and his debut \u201cYou Can Count on Me.\u201d Sara Murphy, the Oscar-winning producer of Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s \u201cOne Battle After Another,\u201d is producing under her Fat City outfit.
