Terraria is not only <\/b>one of the biggest indie games of all time<\/b><\/a>, but also represents one of the best-selling games in history \u2013 nestled in between The Witcher 3 and PUBG with over 70 million copies sold. Celebrating the game\u2019s 15th anniversary, the team at Re-Logic have shared a ton of interesting stats \/ player data.<\/b>\n<\/p>\n

Taking to their Steam page<\/a> to celebrate the milestone, the team at Re-Logic wrote: \u201cFifteen Years?! That is a long time indeed! That’s 131,400 hours \u2013 which quite a few of you have chosen to spend with our humble game. To say that reaching this milestone is equal parts insane and humbling is a massive understatement.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

They continued<\/a>, \u201cYour support allows us to keep going, keep expanding upon Terraria, without having to fall back to price increases or microtransactions. This is becoming increasingly rare in modern gaming, and we cannot thank you enough for making what we do every day possible.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

With that, the team shared a bunch of interesting data pertaining to Terraria from the past decade and half. While it was already known that the game has sold over 70 million copies, Re-Logic revealed that 39.6 million came from PC, 19.7 million on mobile and 10.7 million on consoles.\n<\/p>\n

Amongst all 70 million players, the average total hours played (on PC) exceeds 101 hours \u2013 not bad for a game which costs less than a tenner. Furthermore, despite its age, the game remains as popular as ever, with the past year seeing an average daily player count of 461,000; peaking at 1.4 million.\n<\/p>\n

15 years on and Terraria is still seeing improvements, with the team teasing that the next major update will introduce crossplay support \u2013 adding that<\/a> \u201cTerraria Updates will continue beyond 1.4.6\/Crossplay.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

The team concluded by stating<\/a>: \u201cwe have other plans and ideas that we will share when the time is right, but suffice to say that the world of Terraria remains and will remain vibrant and alive for as long as we have anything to say about it! Here’s to 15 more years\u2026 and beyond!\u201d\n<\/p>\n
