Dulquer Salmaan, currently basking in the success of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra\u2014a pan-Indian blockbuster backed by his Wayfarer Films\u2014dons multiple hats and does so to perfection. He is a successful actor, a caring son to his father\u00a0megastar Mammootty, a supportive film producer to his collaborators, and, most importantly, a devoted family man\u2014a loving husband and a doting father.<\/p>\n

Doing the rounds on social media<\/a> is an old video of Dulquer Salmaan\u2014an interview with Club FM during the release of his blockbuster Kurup\u2014in which he recalls his excitement when his daughter Maryam was born. \u201cI was with Amal while the doctors were performing the procedure, and one of them asked me, \u2018Dulquer, would you like to guess whether it is a boy or a girl?\u2019 Within seconds I realised I had a daughter. Definitely the happiest moment,\u201d the young, dashing actor said.<\/p>\n

In the interview, Dulquer added that since his sister has two boys, he had always wished for a girl, and his father had also hoped for a tiny princess in the house. Little Maryam, he said, was the answer to those prayers.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the moment his daughter was born, Dulquer continued: \u201cI literally screamed; the whole hospital heard! The doctors and nurses were startled,\u201d he said in a lighter vein.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, the excitement didn\u2019t stop there. I went outside and told my family, who were anxiously waiting. I was like, \u2018I told you, I told you guys!\u2019\u201d They were baffled by the joyous commotion.<\/p>\n

Dulquer said he still narrates this story to his daughter. Maryam is now eight years old. For the unversed, Dulquer and Amal married in 2011.<\/p>\n
