Alannagh McMullan, who played newborn Georgina Curley in the Irish cult classic, welcomed her second child at the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, Dublin.<\/p>\n
Speaking to RT\u00c9 News from the hospital she said: “The weekend I had my first baby, The Snapper was on TV and then again, this Friday, it was on TV.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis little man arrived, so it\u2019s obviously my good luck charm.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her son, Jamie Dalton, was born on Sunday night at 10.48pm weighing just shy of 7lbs 12oz.<\/p>\n

Ms McMullan said she grew up watching her own on\u2011screen arrival.<\/p>\n
\u201cI used to have the video [of The Snapper scene] and I used to watch it. I definitely was too young to be watching it, but I\u2019d watch it on repeat, and just replay myself all the time.<\/p>\n
“But it was amazing to see at the weekend as well because there are so many resemblances of myself now that I see in him and in our first baby.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said she will \u201cdefinitely\u201d show the movie to both her children, as she described it as a \u201ccool memory”.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s just a really cool memory to have to see yourself being born, even though it wasn\u2019t real. I think I was covered in Vaseline and food colouring at the time, is what I was told.<\/p>\n
“It’s a full-circle moment that I was born in Holles Street and I was the baby in The Snapper and now they’ve another little baby born by The Snapper,” Ms McMullan said.<\/p>\n
The National Maternity Hospital shared a photo of Ms McMullan and her baby with the hospital staff on Instagram, also describing it as a \u201cfull-circle moment\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 1993, Alannagh McMullan made her acting debut as baby Georgina when Sharon Curley gave birth in Roddy Doyle\u2019s film The Snapper,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFast forward to 2026 and Alannagh has welcomed her own little star with the safe arrival of baby Jamie at the NMH.<\/p>\n
“Congratulations to Alannagh and Ross on their new leading roles as parents to gorgeous baby Jamie,\u201d the hospital added.<\/p>\n
The Snapper is part of Roddy Doyle\u2019s Barrytown trilogy alongside The Commitments and The Van.<\/p>\n
The beloved 1993 film follows the story of teenager Sharon Curley navigating an unexpected pregnancy.<\/p>\n
