Coronation Street has teased the arrival of Alya Nazir<\/a>\u2019s (Sair Khan<\/a>) cousin Idris \u2013 and he\u2019s going to create quite the impact for one resident in particular.<\/p>\n Taking on the role of Idris is Junade Kahn, who\u2019s first scenes will air next week. <\/p>\n Idris will waste no time in making his presence felt as he arrives out of the blue in his flash car. He surprises Alya, impresses teenager Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey<\/a>), annoys Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard<\/a>), and also starts flirting with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson<\/a>). <\/p>\n Having met Idris previously at a Nazir family gathering, Leanne falls under his spell ahead of a fiery new romance. <\/a><\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s multi-layered and incredibly ambitious\u2019, star Junade teased.<\/p>\n \u2018As a child, he suffered a lot of hardship and neglect, so he\u2019s had to overcome those obstacles entirely on his own. He\u2019s a lone wolf \u2013 the black sheep of the family who has made a name for himself. <\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s addicted to success and the finer things in life, but there\u2019s a real vulnerability there, too. It\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve played a character where I can show that side, which is a great gift for an actor.\u2019<\/p>\n Junade revealed that the connection between Idris and Leanne is \u2018instant\u2019, noting that he feels like his character is attracted to Leanne because she\u2019s \u2018real\u2019. <\/p>\n \u2018They actually recognise each other from a family wedding where they sat at the same table\u2019, he said.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t \u2018He\u2019s used to flashy people, but when he sees Leanne fending off a group of guys who aren\u2019t paying their bill, he sees a strength in her that he admires. It reminds him of his own mother, who raised him as a single parent. He sees a strength in Leanne that he probably wishes he\u2019d had in his own life. <\/p>\n \u2018Working with Jane Danson has been amazing; even on her day off, she came in to meet me. The attraction is instantaneous. It kind of gives Leanne a new lease of life. She\u2019s been harbouring a deep-rooted resentment towards Toyah and Nick, because that\u2019s the life she had. <\/p>\n \u2018This guy comes along, he\u2019s got it all, he makes her laugh. He\u2019s funny, he\u2019s handsome, and he ruffles a lot of feathers, but he\u2019s not without an edge. He\u2019s not soft, and he\u2019s certainly no pushover.
