Bastian and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/marsha-timothy\/\" id=\"auto-tag_marsha-timothy\" data-tag=\"marsha-timothy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marsha Timothy<\/a> star as on-screen rivals in \u201cAyah, Aku Mau Cerita\u2026,\u201d Falcon Pictures\u2019 Indonesian-language adaptation of the Malayalam thriller \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/drishyam\/\" id=\"auto-tag_drishyam\" data-tag=\"drishyam\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Drishyam<\/a>,\u201d set to open in theaters Aug. 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBastian, who starred in \u201cMiracle in Cell No. 7,\u201d plays a protective father caught in a high-stakes struggle to shield his family, while Timothy \u2013 best known internationally for \u201cMarlina the Murderer in Four Acts\u201d \u2013 takes the role of the police official relentlessly pursuing him. The film\u2019s title translates into English as \u201cDad, I Want to Tell You\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe project is written and directed by Danial Rifki, whose credits include \u201cDendam Malam Kelam\u201d (\u201cVengeance in the Dreary Night\u201d), the Indonesian remake of Oriol Paulo\u2019s Spanish mystery \u201cEl Cuerpo.\u201d With this production, Rifki helms the first Indonesian adaptation of a Malayalam-language film. The supporting cast includes Niken Anjani, Ziva Magnolya, Gunawan and Pritt Timothy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFrederica, producer at Falcon Pictures, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to bring this iconic story to life with Danial Rifki at the helm. His experience in masterfully adapting Oriol Paulo\u2019s work proves he understands the intricate mechanics of a world-class thriller. Pitting Vino G. Bastian against Marsha Timothy as protagonist and antagonist adds a layer of emotional and cinematic tension that is truly unprecedented in our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cDrishyam\u201d \u2013 originally written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal \u2013 has been adapted in four Indian languages and crossed into international markets, including a Sinhala remake and a Chinese version released as \u201cSheep Without a Shepherd.\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/global\/jeethu-joseph-drishyam-3-1236755002\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Malayalam-language \u201cDrishyam 3\u201d<\/a> opened in theaters May 21. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAntony Perumbavoor, producer of the original film, said: \u201cWe are happy to announce that \u2018Drishyam\u2019 has become the first Malayalam movie to be remade into Indonesian language. Falcon Pictures in Jakarta is presenting the film in Indonesia. Already \u2018Drishyam\u2019 has been remade in four Indian languages and two foreign languages.
