\n\tAmerica\u2019s 250 th anniversary this summer may be a bittersweet celebration, but Christina Aguilera<\/a>, Will Smith<\/a>, DJ Jazzy Jeff, the Roots, Jill Scott, Seal, State Property, Kathy Sledge, Infinity Song and more special guests will celebrate it and Philadelphia\u2019s legacy as the birthplace of the nation with a performance for \u201cOne Philly: Unity Concert For America,\u201d a six-hour live concert on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia on Saturday, July 4, hosted by Wanda Sykes. The event is free and open to the public. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOur Fourth of July concert is a historic homecoming for many of our city\u2019s brightest stars,\u201d said Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. \u201cBy uniting the vision of our mayor\u2019s office and so many other city leaders, the global broadcast and production of Scott Mirkin, and the unmatched musical legacy of the Roots and Live Nation Urban, the \u2018One Philly: Unity Concert For America\u2019 will celebrate the soul of Philadelphia and the spirit of our nation on a truly global scale. There is no place to be other than Philly on July 4th!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHosted by the City of Philadelphia and produced by ESM Productions, executive producers are Scott Mirkin, Shawn Gee, and Ahmir \u201cQuestlove\u201d Thompson of The Roots. \u201cOne Philly: Unity Concert for America\u201d is expected to be the largest free concert in America and will culminate with a fireworks finale over the Philadelphia Museum of Art and skyline just before midnight.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe concert is designed as a nonpartisan celebration of unity, diversity, and democracy \u2014 bringing together voices, perspectives, and performances that reflect the richness of the American experience across generations and genres,\u201d the announcement states.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOver the years, we\u2019ve had the opportunity to produce some of the biggest live events in the world, and every experience has prepared us for a moment like this,\u201d said ESM founder Scott Mirkin. \u201cTo help create a celebration for America\u2019s 250th anniversary \u2014 in Philly, where the country\u2019s story began \u2014 is an incredible honor. Our goal is to deliver a production experience that feels both global in scale and deeply rooted in the spirit of Philly. From the live broadcast to the performances on the Parkway, we\u2019re building something that we hope audiences in the city and around the world will never forget.\u201d<\/p>\n
