Pete Davidson has a history of falling into serious relationships very fast \u2014 including getting engaged to Ariana Grande in 2018 after dating for just a few weeks. But even his friends were surprised when the comedian and model Elsie Hewitt announced they were expecting a baby four months into their public romance.<\/p>\n
They\u2019re less surprised that the love connection is over<\/a>, some five months after the birth of the couple\u2019s daughter Scottie, though they say Davidson, 32, had wanted to make it work.<\/p>\n \u201cI was happy for them,\u201d one insider told Page Six. \u201cThey seemed pretty strong\u201d off the excitement of the pregnancy.<\/p>\n It was a whirlwind romance for model Elsie Hewitt and comedian Pete Davidson \u2014 who have split just over a year after going public with their romance and months after the birth of their daughter. Having a baby is difficult \u2014 no one can prepare you for what happens after you have a baby.\u201d<\/p>\n Another source close to the couple made clear that \u201ctheir issues were not related to the baby\u201d and that there were signs the two weren\u2019t compatible before Scottie\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n David himself is said to have been blindsided when Hewitt \u2014 who previously dated Benny Blanco, Jason Sudeikis and Ryan Philippe\u00a0\u2014 last week took the unusual move of turning to social media recently for help.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m currently trying to find an assistant \/ mother\u2019s helper \/ nanny type \/ basically right hand person. The baby is named for Davidson\u2019s late father, Scott. He entered a Pennsylvania wellness facility in July and broke up with the actress in August. <\/p>\n Then, in 2024, he again entered rehab timed to a split from actress Madelyn Cline.<\/p>\n But insiders say they are confident Davidson is in a stronger place now \u2014\u00a0in part because he is \u201ccommitted to being a good dad,\u201d the source close to the couple told Page Six. \u201cHe\u2019s almost two years out of [his last stint at] rehab.
