Well, Dublin will be in the Leinster SHC final against Galway. Se\u00e1n Moran reports on a great day for the Dubs:<\/p>\n

“The blue wave swept through Parnell Park, as Dublin finished strongly to defeat Kilkenny 1-26 to 0-22 and reach the Leinster final where they will play Galway. It also notably means that Kilkenny exit the championship at the round-robin stage for the first time.<\/p>\n

Dublin led by four at the break and had to face the wind in the second half but an immense defensive display shut out the former champions\u2019 attack with Paddy Smyth excellent not alone on the veteran TJ Reid but then, on Eoin Cody as well.<\/p>\n

Those efforts were supplemented by Brian Hayes, whose apparently solar-powered energy had him playing sweeper and bounding up the field at the other end \u2013 great relieving runs that lifted the siege even if they sometimes ended in spilled possession.<\/p>\n

A penalty by D\u00f3nal Burke in the 51st minute put clear water between the teams, 1-21 to 0-17 but Kilkenny purchased the goal back with the next three points.Dublin rallied, repelling nearly every attack and winning the last 15 minutes 0-5 to 0-2. A carnival atmosphere developed towards the end with the Dublin crowd celebrating in the sun as their county beat Kilkenny for the first time since 2013 and only the second time in 84 years.”<\/p>\n

“A big crowd in Parnell Park on a summer\u2019s day have watched Dublin avail of a slight wind to lead Kilkenny by four at half-time, 0-15 to 0-11. The home side are worth the margin but may regret 11 wides, several of which should have been converted. Late replacement John Hetherton caused early havoc winning his signature high ball and converting for two points after Kilkenny had started well.<\/p>\n

Defence however is where Dublin have delivered most impressively given the absence from the team of late withdrawals, Eoghan O\u2019Donnell and Liam Rushe. Paddy Smyth has played well on TJ Reid and in general, the team are well competitive on breaking ball and rucks.<\/p>\n

A couple of goal chances came to nothing as Reid was forced into taking a point after the ball spilled loose and Eddie Gibbons saved from Harry Shine at the expense of a converted 65.<\/p>\n

D\u00f3nal Burke\u2019s frees have been nearly flawless \u2013 one wide \u2013 and Brian Hayes\u2019s pace has troubled Kilkenny. With the news from Wexford potentially shaking up things, there is the prospect of these two teams qualifying for the Leinster final should Kilkenny win and Galway lose.”<\/p>\n

The Dublin hurlers have a big challenge on their hands today at Parnell Park. While they have booked their place in the next stages of the championship, a win today would see them enter the Leinster final as table-toppers, and could also dump out Kilkenny. That one throws in at 2pm.<\/p>\n

Probably the biggest game of the day sees Kilkenny take on Leinster leaders Dublin, knowing a loss would likely mean the end of their 2026 championship. Denis Walsh says the Cats\u2019 once-imperious identity is on the line today.<\/p>\n
