An Irish tourist is in custody after cops pepper-sprayed him when he allegedly attacked them in an upmarket area of Rome<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Irishman started pushing members of the Carabinieri police force when they were called to a bar in the centre of the Italian capital in the early hours of Friday morning, cops said.<\/p>\n The incident happened on Via Euclide Turba in the upscale Prati-Trionfale area, just a few minutes’ walk from the Vatican.<\/p>\n It started when paramedics were called to the bar to try to help the 25-year-old Irishman, who cops say was drunk and was hassling other punters.<\/p>\n He refused medical help and the paramedics were forced to call the Carabinieri when he started being disruptive with them.<\/p>\n The Irish Mirror’s Crime Writers Michael O’Toole and Paul Healy are writing a new weekly newsletter called Crime Ireland.
