All responding units were subsequently stood down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The teenager is from Ballymun and had been visiting Burrow Beach, which lies between Sutton and Howth and is a popular swimming spot. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Abbie Carmody-Pepper. Photograph: RIP.ie <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A spokesperson for the Department of Transport, which oversees the Irish Coast Guard, said it was \u201crequested by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\">An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na<\/a> to assist in a missing person search at Burrow Beach, Sutton\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cHowth Coast Guard Unit was tasked, and Howth RNLI was requested to launch,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe Howth RNLI inshore lifeboat attended the scene and the casualty was recovered and transferred to Howth RNLI station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cAll responding units were subsequently stood down and the incident was declared closed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A teenage girl who died while swimming near Howth, Co Dublin, has been named as Abbie Carmody-Pepper.
