{"id":502546,"date":"2026-05-25T23:57:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T23:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/502546\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T23:57:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T23:57:16","slug":"landmark-illustration-museum-launches-in-the-capital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/502546\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Landmark\u2019 illustration museum launches in the capital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>British illustrator Quentin Blake has established a new museum dedicated solely to his craft, aiming to uplift other artists<\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s largest museum devoted solely to illustration will open in Clerkenwell, London, in June, marking the culmination of a project more than 20 years in the making.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/qbcentre.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration<\/a> is the brainchild of celebrated British illustrator Quentin Blake. Here we shall celebrate its traditions and welcome the astonishing diversity of visual language from across the world. Hurrah!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The opening exhibition spotlights British-Sri Lankan multidisciplinary artist Murugiah, who works under a single name. Titled Murugiah: Ever Feel Like\u2026, the show explores identity and mental health through prints, paintings and sketches in his vivid, graphic style.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside its exhibition spaces, the centre will house a free public library, gardens, learning studios and displays explaining the history and scope of illustration.
