The Duchess\u2019 post also featured never-before-seen photos from her wedding day in May 2018.<\/p>\n
She captioned the images: \u201cEight years ago today\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Abdul previously revealed that her mum was initially bemused by her ambitions in the music business.<\/p>\n
The pop star recalled her mum, Lorraine, was \u201cp***** off\u201d about the idea of her launching a music career.<\/p>\n
During an appearance on Shawn Stockman\u2019s On That Note podcast, Abdul said: \u201cI could hear her say, \u2018I can\u2019t believe she\u2019s going to try and make a stupid album\u2019. Had she not said that, the next thing wouldn\u2019t have happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Abdul, Lorraine\u2019s assistant overheard their conversation about her landing a record deal and asked to submit a demo written by her boyfriend, \u201can aspiring songwriter [who\u2019s] studying to be a nuclear physicist\u201d.<\/p>\n
She recalled: \u201cTwo days later, my mom calls me hysterically laughing on the phone, like crying laughing.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe goes, \u2018Paula, it\u2019s the worst sounding piece of crap I\u2019ve ever heard in my entire life \u2026 There are notes being sung that I\u2019ve never even imagined that are even acknowledged or invented \u2026 It\u2019s so bad.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
The demo version of Straight Up \u2013 Abdul\u2019s 1988 hit single \u2013 featured \u201cthis guy singing completely off-key\u201d. But Abdul was convinced the song still had a \u201cmagical\u201d element to it.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cThey\u2019re laughing at me and looking at me like I\u2019m the craziest person in the freaking world. And I\u2019m laughing with them. I go, \u2018I know it sounds awful \u2026 but I believe in it, and you guys believe in me\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
