In an emotional moment during the Summer House<\/a><\/strong> Season 10 reunion, KJ Dillard<\/strong> opened up about what ultimately led to his borderline personality disorder diagnosis.<\/p>\n

KJ, who has been open about his mental health and is an advocate for mental health awareness, shared during the reunion that he was hospitalized last fall.<\/p>\n

“I went through some heavy stuff mentally, I actually had to go to the hospital for self-harm,” KJ said. “And I was there for a week. Mia [Calabrese]<\/strong> and Ciara [Miller] <\/strong>were there almost every day. And then I went to recovery, and that solidified it for me. I was there for a few months. I got to focus on myself, and I needed that because I think my whole life I distracted myself and ran away from my issues instead of facing them head-on, but now I’m better, I’m in therapy, and I’m on medication.”<\/p>\n

KJ shared that he was diagnosed with “BPD when I was in the hospital, and I’m grateful that I’m here alive because I could have not been.” He added, “I’m thankful for just like the support of my friends, like everyone here has somewhat shown support in their own way so I appreciate that, and I’m very thankful that the audience is just embracing that because it’s my truth, you know, and I’m not gonna not be honest about what I go through, especially if it can help others.”<\/p>\n

In addition to capturing the hearts of the Bravoverse, KJ really captured Mia and Ciara’s hearts and considers them family. Earlier in the reunion, host Andy Cohen<\/a><\/strong> asked who gives him tough love and who lets him get away with everything.<\/p>\n

While the women both agreed they leaned into tough love, KJ joked about Mia\u2019s reaction after he got more tattoos and piercings. \u201cI was so upset, don\u2019t get one more tattoo,\u201d Mia laughed. KJ also noted that friends tell him Ciara regularly reminds people to check in on him, saying \u201cthey both give it to me equally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Summer House reunion continues next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET\/PT on Bravo.<\/p>\n
