{"id":505604,"date":"2026-05-27T18:55:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T18:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/505604\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T18:55:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T18:55:11","slug":"teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma-trailer-queer-slasher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/505604\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma&#8217; Trailer: Queer Slasher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMubi has released the full trailer for the queer satirical slasher \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma\/\" id=\"auto-tag_teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma\" data-tag=\"teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The film stars <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/hannah-einbinder\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hannah-einbinder\" data-tag=\"hannah-einbinder\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hannah Einbinder<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/gillian-anderson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gillian-anderson\" data-tag=\"gillian-anderson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gillian Anderson<\/a>, and is set for theatrical release via Mubi on August 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cCamp Miasma\u201d marks writer-director <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/jane-schoenbrun\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jane-schoenbrun\" data-tag=\"jane-schoenbrun\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jane Schoenbrun<\/a>\u2019s third feature, following 2021\u2019s \u201cWe\u2019re All Going to the World\u2019s Fair\u201d and 2024\u2019s \u201cI Saw the TV Glow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The film\u2019s meta plot description reads: \u201cAfter years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original movie\u2019s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cast also features Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald and Jack Haven.<\/p>\n<p>The <a data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/festivals\/teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma-cannes-lesbian-sex-horror-1236739292\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/festivals\/teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma-cannes-lesbian-sex-horror-1236739292\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cannes world premiere of \u201cCamp Miasma\u201d<\/a> received a six-minute standing ovation, with <a data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/reviews\/teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma-review-1236747126\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/reviews\/teenage-sex-and-death-at-camp-miasma-review-1236747126\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Variety\u2019s review<\/a> of the film praising Anderson and Einbinder\u2019s performances, along with Schoenbrun\u2019s direction.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the new film, Schoenbrun is also publishing their debut novel, \u201cPublic Access Afterworld,\u201d this year via Hogarth. Schoenbrun is also set to write, direct and produce a series adaptation of the graphic novel \u201cBlack Hole\u201d for Netflix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cCamp Miasma\u201d was financed by Mubi and produced by Plan B. The Match Factory is handling the remaining worldwide sales.
