With it, the company removed the video recording filter option from the Camera app.

The good news is that if your phone is running One UI 8.5, you can still apply filters to your videos using Samsung software; you just have to use a different method. Here’s how.

Adding video filters in One UI 8.5

In essence, One UI 8.5 users have two main ways to apply filters to video recordings. One is through the Camera app itself, and the other is through post-editing via the Gallery app.

Gallery app: The first method is to apply filters to existing video recordings through post-editing in the Gallery app. You have 13 filters preloaded on your device, and you can download countless others through the Galaxy Store by scrolling all the way to the right. Some Galaxy Store filters are free, while others are paid. You can also create your own filters from photos using the same editing menu.

SamMobile

Samsung Gallery video filters – Source: SamMobile

SamMobile

Samsung Galaxy Store video filters – Source: SamMobile

Camera app: If you have a Galaxy S24 or newer model running One UI 8.5, you can also choose the Log video format and apply a Cinematic LUT filter: Standard, Blockbuster, Coming-of-age, Romance, Thriller.

NOTE: If you don’t see the Log video option, you can enable it via Camera > Settings > Video format > Log > select Pro video mode only / Video and Pro video modes.

With this feature enabled, the Log option will show up in the upper-right corner (in portrait orientation) of the Video / Pro Video viewfinder. Removing video filters from the Camera app may have been part of those streamlining efforts, but some might argue Samsung went one step too far this time.

There’s no evidence Samsung plans to reintroduce video filters to the Camera app with One UI 9 beta, so this change could be here to stay. Thankfully, you can work around this odd One UI 8.5 limitation using the methods above.

We will keep you posted on any potential future changes to these features.

If you’re a fan of recording videos with filters on your phone, you may have noticed a significant…

[257
5190,18,2033,19,17,279,73256,51925,82
post-508155","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mobile","tag-camera","tag-eire","tag-gallery","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-mobile","tag-one-ui","tag-one-ui-8-5","tag-technology
["GET
