Last weekend (May 30),\u00a0K-pop music festival<\/a>\u00a0K-Spark brought some of the industry’s biggest stars to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, including G-Dragon<\/a>, Girls\u2019 Generation\u2019s Taeyeon and FT ISLAND.<\/p>\n

For most fans, it was an unforgettable night.<\/p>\n

For a handful of others, however, it was memorable for a very different reason.<\/p>\n

An allegedly overenthusiastic fan’s ear-splitting screams have since become one of the event’s biggest talking points \u2014 and not in a good way.<\/p>\n

According to a Threads post that quickly gained traction online, one concertgoer attended the festival with a friend and found themselves seated directly in front of a woman whose behaviour they described as “particularly excessive”.<\/p>\n

The netizen claimed the woman, who appeared to be a devoted G-Dragon fan, screamed in an extremely high-pitched tone throughout much of the concert.<\/p>\n

And according to the account, it didn’t stop once G-Dragon left the stage.<\/p>\n

Instead, the screaming allegedly continued throughout the evening, with the fan letting out piercing shrieks even during quieter moments between performances.<\/p>\n

What started as an annoyance soon became a physical problem.<\/p>\n

The netizen claimed that both she and her friend experienced severe ear pain and dizziness after the concert and eventually sought treatment at an emergency department.<\/p>\n

The unexpected trip reportedly resulted in additional medical expenses, while one of them was allegedly diagnosed with noise-induced hearing loss in one ear.<\/p>\n

Despite the ordeal, the concertgoer insisted they were not looking for a fight.<\/p>\n

Instead, they hoped to identify the woman and make her aware that her behaviour may have affected the hearing of those around her \u2014 and that an apology would be appreciated.<\/p>\n

The story quickly went viral, prompting other attendees to share similar experiences from the same event.<\/p>\n

One wrote: \u201cI even moved forward and sat on just a quarter of my seat to get away from her. I\u2019m willing to testify that it was really that extreme. The screaming never stopped.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another claimed: “I think she was sitting diagonally behind me. The screams were unbelievably sharp and piercing.”<\/p>\n

Others described spending much of the concert wincing in discomfort, with one attendee saying they repeatedly turned around to look at the fan in hopes she might tone it down, but she never did.<\/p>\n

The discussion soon expanded beyond K-Spark itself.<\/p>\n

Many netizens began sharing their own concert horror stories, recalling encounters with fans who screamed “like a siren” or shrieked continuously throughout performances.<\/p>\n

At the same time, some felt the criticism was unfair.<\/p>\n

They argued that screaming and cheering are part of the live concert experience, particularly at K-pop shows where fan enthusiasm is practically part of the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

That said, even those defending passionate fans generally agreed there is a difference between cheering and sustained, high-volume screaming that disrupts everyone around them.<\/p>\n

Others suggested that concertgoers worried about excessive noise should consider bringing noise-reducing earplugs to future shows.<\/p>\n

Still, judging by the reactions online, many seem to agree on one thing: there\u2019s a fine line between showing support for your favourite idol and accidentally becoming the main character of someone else\u2019s concert nightmare.<\/p>\n
