Bagby\u2019s book The New Guys, the series chronicles the events leading up to the 1986 Challenger disaster, the investigation that followed, and Sally Ride\u2019s groundbreaking journey as the first American woman in space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn her TV debut, Stewart plays astronaut and physicist Ride. Arnett will play George Abbey who, as Director of Flight Crew Operations for NASA\u2019s Space Shuttle, assigned Ride to the crew of 1983\u2019s STS-7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Challenger is from Big Swing Productions, Amblin Television, and Nevermind Pictures. James Hawes (Slow Horses, Black Mirror) directs and executive produces. Cohn is writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Also executive producing are Kyra Sedgwick and Valerie Stadler for Big Swing Productions; Bagby; Stewart, Dylan Meyer, and Maggie McLean for Nevermind Pictures; and Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tArnett most recently starred in Bradley Cooper\u2019s film Is This Thing On? opposite Laura Dern. He will next co-star in Tony Gilroy\u2019s upcoming movie Behemoth! opposite Pedro Pascal. Arnett, a seven-time Emmy nominee for Arrested Development and 30 Rock, co-hosts the popular podcast SmartLess with Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.
