You should tell your GP, says Dr Amir Khan.<\/p>\n<p>Posting on Instagram on Sunday (31 May), the popular television doctor warned that \u201cnatural doesn\u2019t automatically mean harmless\u201d, as he said magnesium, turmeric, St. John&#8217;s wort, collagen and herbal remedies all needed to be flagged to your doctor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you&#8217;re taking regular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/medication\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">medication<\/a>, don&#8217;t forget to tell your doctor which supplements you also take because sometimes the interaction we&#8217;re worried about isn&#8217;t between two medications. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can be between medicine and something you thought was harmless, like a supplement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Do you take these over-the-counter supplements?
