There may be a future Champion Jockey with a very cool name after Rachel Blackmore and her West Cork husband and fellow racing star Brian Hayes have welcomed their first child into the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tipperary woman Rachel has just shared a first pic of their baby with her 72,000 followers on Instagram. And she’s also revealed the very sweet name they chose for little Bowie Martin Hayes.<\/p>\n Rachael and Brian, who tied the knot in his native West Cork back in January,<\/a> are not ones for over-sharing on social media, despite their very high profiles in racing. But they do give the odd glimpse, including some classy pics from their very low-key wedding in Rosscarbery at the start of this year.<\/a><\/p>\n With their newborn son, Rachel shared a black and white picture of her son snuggling into her chest, Rachael wrote on Instagram: “Bowie Martin Hayes”, accompanied by a blue loveheart emoji.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n Niamh De Br\u00fan wrote: “He’s adorable! Congratulations”. Doireann Garrihy said: “Massive congratulations, what a beautiful baby.”<\/p>\n And Yvonne Connolly sent her congratulations with some loveheart emojis.<\/p>\n Rachael announced she was pregnant back in February. She posted a picture of her Volvo car with a baby pram in its boot, writing: “Love driving the Volvo XC60 BA. Boot contents looking a little bit different now…”<\/p>\n Rachael, who retired last year after a very successful career in horse racing, was the first female jockey to win the Grand National, and became the first woman to be leading jockey at Cheltenham.<\/p>\n Newlyweds Rachael Blackmore and Brian Hayes(Image: @blackmorerachael \/ Instagram)<\/p>\n The Tipperary woman has won a total of 575 races as a professional jockey. She and Brian have known each other for more than a decade, having met at a training yard in Carlow when they were both early in their careers.<\/p>\n They previously said that they lived together, sharing a house with their friend Patrick Mullins, the son of legendary jump trainer Willie Mullins.<\/p>\n Rachael briefly spoke about their relationship in 2021, saying that their house is great to live in and that people would be surprised that they don\u2019t talk about racing that much.<\/p>\n She said: “I live with two other jockeys, Patrick Mullins and Brian Hayes. I am going out with Brian Hayes, so there are three of us here.
