IDLES<\/a>\u2019 Joe Talbot and his dad Nigel have launched an art exhibition, \u2018Musoleum\u00a0\u2013 Remembrance of Remembering\u2019.<\/p>\n

The singer and his father have created a series of sculptures that explore the nature of\u00a0memory\u00a0and they are on display\u00a0at the Newport Museum and Art Gallery in South Wales.<\/p>\n

The exhibition\u00a0is free to\u00a0enter\u00a0and it\u00a0opened\u00a0on May 23 and it will run until September 12.\u00a0The museum is open between Tuesday and Saturday every\u00a0week, and you can find\u00a0out more\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A description of the show explains that the sculptures \u201cexplore memory through the metaphor of the vessel\u201d,\u00a0making use of salvaged and recycled materials to \u201cexamine how memories are formed, distorted, inherited, on invented over time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The description continues: \u201cFocusing on a father-and-son relationship, the exhibition questions whose stories are remembered, whose are hidden, and how myth and truth intertwine. Some works act as containers for imagined histories, others as guardians of absence, revealing memory as fragile, subjective, and shaped across generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month,\u00a0IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen told\u00a0NME\u00a0that they are at work on their \u201cmost exciting\u201d album yet<\/a>, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2024 record \u2018Tangk<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is probably the most exciting IDLES album, just from a perspective of how excited we are about it,\u201d he said. \u201cWe got back in the studio to write, and we\u2019ve kinda gone \u2013 I don\u2019t want to say back to basics because that\u2019s cliche \u2013 but it\u2019s a bit back to basics!<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0five members in a room thrashing it out on instruments. Lots of\u00a0arguments, [which is great because] if\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0too nice, then\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not sick.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0always\u00a0more sick\u00a0if someone is not getting what they want!\u201d<\/p>\n

The guitarist and songwriter then revealed that while things are still in\u00a0early stages, he is sure \u201cit\u2019ll be recorded this year and I\u2019d expect it [released] next year\u201d.<\/p>\n

IDLES also have a huge show coming up, as part of\u00a0Deftones\u2019 day headlining All Points East x Outbreak<\/a>\u00a0at London\u2019s Victoria Park on Sunday August 23.\u00a0Amyl & The Sniffers<\/a>, Deafheaven <\/a>and\u00a0JPEGMAFIA<\/a>\u00a0are among the other names on the bill.<\/p>\n
