Jon Cryer says \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d is still earning him big bucks.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt still is an engine that\u2019s producing an astonishing amount of money,\u201d he told Page Six in a recent exclusive interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s not [from] residuals as much,\u201d Cryer added. \u201cAlthough, there is still, there are still residual payments that are substantial. It\u2019s mostly because over the course of the years, I was able to get some percentage of the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor, 61, played Alan Harper on the sitcom, which ran from 2003 to 2015, opposite Charlie Sheen and, following Sheen\u2019s dismissal,<\/a> Ashton Kutcher.<\/p>\n

Cryer shared that being a part of such a successful show is \u201cabsolutely life-changing\u201d and \u201castonishing good luck,\u201d stressing that he never grew up with enormous wealth, \u201cso I am very aware of how lucky I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cPretty in Pink\u201d star added that it\u2019s wonderful \u201cnot having to worry about making your rent every month\u201d and \u201cit transforms the way I deal with things on a daily basis. I really look for work that makes me joyful. I am daily aware of how lucky I am to be able to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

In last year\u2019s Netflix documentary \u201ca k a Charlie Sheen,\u201d <\/a>Cryer revealed that while the \u201cPlatoon\u201d star was making close to two million dollars per episode, he was earning at least two-thirds<\/a> less than that, and it wasn\u2019t until Sheen left that he began making $620,000 an episode.<\/p>\n

Cryer promises he wasn\u2019t bothered by the massive pay disparity, but found it \u201creally interesting\u201d that Sheen\u2019s messy private life, drug addiction, dalliances with porn stars and arrests helped Sheen procure more money.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tumultuousness of his personal life<\/a>, and the court proceedings, and the divorces<\/a>, and all that stuff,\u201d he noted. \u201cThat actually enhanced his negotiating stance. I thought it was very, very funny at the time. And I still find it very notable, because, you know, the deal he negotiated was the single largest pay for an actor in broadcast television history, I believe, and it was because his life was a mess.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cryer jokes that he did ponder driving a car off a cliff to bump up his salary, but noted that \u201cthe perks of having your life a mess vastly outweigh the monetary advantages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Emmy winner is currently in the Off-Broadway revival of \u201cThe 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredibly touching, and that\u2019s why I wanted to be a part of it after I saw it,\u201d Cryer explained about the musical, which, yes, takes place at a school during a spelling bee. Tony nominee Lili Cooper and \u201cGlee\u201d alum Kevin McHale are also in the show.<\/p>\n
