We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sc-1uza6dc-1 eRQajs\">Your support makes all the difference.<\/strong>Read more<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/dragons-den\">Dragons\u2019 Den<\/a> star Touker Suleyman has uttered the iconic catchphrase, \u201cI\u2019m out\u201d, for the final time \u2013 with the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/bbc\">BBC<\/a> star leaving the show after 11 years. <\/p>\n<p>The businessman announced the news in an Instagram post, explaining that he had been \u201creflecting on what matters most\u201d and thought that it was time \u201cfor new blood\u201d to join the show. <\/p>\n<p>The 72-year-old retail entrepreneur, whose company owns shirt maker Hawes &amp; Curtis and fashion brand Ghost, joined Dragons\u2019 Den in 2015, shortly after making The Sunday Times\u2019 Rich List. The energetic investor is best known for bringing some much-needed levity to the show \u2013 having broken a number of products while testing them in the den, from a flat-pack bed to a baby bassinet. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/501130.jpg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Touker Suleyman with his fellow dragons\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/>Touker Suleyman with his fellow dragons (BBC\/Simon Pantling)<\/p>\n<p>Writing on Instagram on Saturday (6 June), Suleyman said that he had made the decision to \u201cstep down from the show\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been an immense privilege to sit in that chair, to meet so many passionate and talented entrepreneurs and to invest in business and people I truly believed in,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe show gave me a platform not only to invest in leading British founders and companies but to share hard-won wisdom built over decades in business \u2013 and I hope that, in some small way, I made a difference to those who stood opposite me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cAt 72, I find myself reflecting on what matters most. I am proud of every deal I made, every pitch challenged and every founder I had the honour of backing. But I firmly believe that great institutions must evolve and it is time for new blood to take my seat in the Den and bring their own vision to this brilliant show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/517238000...jpeg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Touker Suleyman is leaving the show\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/>Touker Suleyman is leaving the show (Getty)<\/p>\n<p>Suleyman\u2019s final episodes are set to air later this year, after which he plans to \u201cmentor the entrepreneurs I have invested in\u201d and \u201cgive back the 50 years of business experience\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>He ended his statement by thanking the BBC, his fellow Dragons \u201cpast and present\u201d, the production team and \u201call the entrepreneurs who dared to walk through those doors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fire in the Den burns on.
