A celebrity-loved make-up artist\u00a0has revealed why she refuses to get Botox<\/a> or fillers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bobbi Brown, 68, appeared on the first episode <\/a>of LYMA’s Powerful Women YouTube<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

Its founder Lucy Goff spoke to US-born Bobbi in what was described as ‘an unfiltered conversation about why she refuses to alter her face, what real beauty actually looks like, and how she keeps her mind and body ageless’.<\/p>\n

Bobbi found success in the 1990s, when she was known as the\u00a0artist behind some of the most famous faces of that decade, including Carla Bruni,\u00a0Cindy Crawford<\/a>, and Christy Turlington<\/a>\u00a0among others.<\/p>\n

Her philosophy of enhancing natural beauty rather than masking it was hugely influential in the industry.<\/p>\n

Speaking this week, Bobbi explained: ‘It’s amazing what plastic surgery can do but I think in general why change the shape and size of your lips for example because someone else has fuller lips it’s not necessarily going to look right on you.’<\/p>\n

‘I’m 68 and people say to me that I look good, and I think that’s because I haven’t done all kinds of things to my skin and I see a lot of women where, even just putting cheek implants into their face just doesn’t look right, something looks wrong.’<\/p>\n

Bobbi Brown (pictured in 2025) is one of the best-known make-up artists in the world – and launched two brands – Bobbi Brown and Jones Road<\/p>\n

She added that\u00a0the most powerful thing she does every day is exercise with weight-lifting, Pilates, walking and dance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘By moving my body like a younger person my mind works like a younger person, I hang out with some of my team who are in their twenties, and we go to class together,’ she said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bobbi founded her original eponymous cosmetics business in 1991, before selling it to Estee Lauder in 1995.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The line is reportedly used by the Princess of Wales, who has been pictured in a lipstick from the brand’s the Luxe Lipstick range in a shade called Sandwash Pink.<\/p>\n

After selling her Bobbi Brown make-up company, Bobbi established a new range of cosmetics, Jones Road, in 2020 in her early sixties.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the impact of celebrity aesthetics on young people, Bobbi added: ‘Real beauty is, the women I see on the street or in the store – they’re real.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Successful make-up entrepreneur Bobbi says she looks so good because she has avoided filler and other treatments many women use<\/p>\n

‘They’re not spending six hours in the gym, two hours with a makeup artist every day or getting a blow out every day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Real is going to pick up their kid at day-care and they have two seconds to look good.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘That’s real beauty to me and that’s much more of what I relate to.’<\/p>\n

She also shared her thoughts when it comes to the\u00a0‘biggest mistake she sees midlife women make with their makeup’.<\/p>\n

‘I think that people don’t realise that make up is really there to make you look better not worse and a lot of traditional make up is just not very flattering on women of a certain age.’<\/p>\n

This inspired the way she made her Jones Road line, she said: ‘\u00a0When I set out to create Jones Road it was about things that instantly look good on you and you put them on and you’re like “my god, I just look so much better”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘There’s nothing more powerful than being able to make yourself look better because then you will feel better, and it goes hand in hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘If you want to know what makes me feel powerful, it’s the ability to create products and teach people how to use them so you just don’t look tired, and you don’t look made up.’<\/p>\n
