Criminal Minds, now Criminal Minds: Evolution, has had legendary celebrity guest stars over the course of its 19 seasons<\/a>. Many of them, including Aaron Paul and Evan Peters,\u00a0got to play creeps, killers, and kidnappers\/kidnappees before they became household names. This season, Heated Rivalry<\/a> breakout Connor Storrie<\/a> will continue the tradition<\/a> with a four-episode guest stint. As Lance Kingston, \u201ca charming narcissist with a deep sense of entitlement,\u201d Storrie becomes a major player in a Behavioral Analysis Unit investigation after being accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a perfect time for any show to cash in on Storrie-mania \u2014\u00a0fans are clamoring for more of the actor while waiting for season two of Heated Rivalry \u2014\u00a0but series creator Erica Messer tells Vulture that Storrie was cast and shot his part last summer, long before anyone knew the Canadian hockey romance would become such a sensation. \u201cWe were very much interested in finding somebody that would stand out a bit. Connor won that, hands down,\u201d Messer says. \u201cThe interesting thing is, none of us knew what Heated Rivalry was. Even if it was on his r\u00e9sum\u00e9, I think the conversation was, \u2018He\u2019s just finished this thing that hasn\u2019t aired yet.\u2019 It wasn\u2019t anything more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n When casting director April Webster and her department chose Storrie, he was only meant to appear in one episode and shoot for two days. He brought such enormous screen presence, however, that the writers immediately expanded his part. \u201cWe were like, \u2018Okay, I know he was important for episode four, but we\u2019ve got to make him more integral to the rest of the season,\u2019\u201d Messer says. Storrie went from a one-episode guest-star slot to a four-episode arc, \u201c100 percent because he was so compelling,\u201d Messer says. Vulture got an exclusive first look at the character alongside series stars R.J. Hatanaka, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, and A.J. Cook.<\/p>\n Photo: Michael Yarish\/Paramount+\n <\/p>\n Photo: Michael Yarish\/Paramount+\n <\/p>\n As for what fans can expect from Storrie\u2019s arc, Messer says he goes \u201ctoe-to-toe with the BAU,\u201d and there\u2019s a scene where \u201cAdam\u2019s character kind of alphas him, in a way.\u201d On set, Messer says Storrie made such a good impression that \u201ceverybody is asking, from our wardrobe department to our grips, \u2018Is there a way to bring him back?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Well?
