Gardai<\/a> are questioning a man after he was arrested drunkenly waving a gun around as he walked along a street.<\/p>\n

The Irish Mirror has confirmed the Chinese<\/a> national was arrested after he was confronted by gardai in south central Dublin<\/a> late on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Sources have revealed that he was walking through Inchicore waving a gun when he was arrested at around 11.30pm.<\/p>\n

Officers seized the firearm – and arrested the suspect.<\/p>\n

We have established that the firearm was a Glock semi-automatic pistol – and it was fully loaded.<\/p>\n

The suspect, who is in his 30s, is being held at a south Dublin Garda Station and can be detained for up to three days.<\/p>\n

Detectives are now trying to establish how he got the pistol.<\/p>\n

One source said: “The fella was drunk and was wandering about the place waving the gun.<\/p>\n

“It was quite bizarre. Nobody knows what he was up to. They don’t think he was planning a hit – he was just drunk.”<\/p>\n

Gardai confirmed the arrest in a statement to the Irish Mirror.<\/a><\/p>\n

A spokesman for the force said: “Garda\u00ed on patrol attended the scene of Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8 on Thursday 9th June 2026 shortly after 11:30pm. Garda\u00ed arrested an adult male (aged in his 30s) who was in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n

“The adult male is currently detained under Section 30, Offences Against State Act, 1939 at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.<\/p>\n

“Investigations are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
