{"id":53100,"date":"2025-09-09T14:36:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T14:36:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/53100\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T14:36:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T14:36:07","slug":"house-of-the-dragon-star-olivia-cooke-on-sex-scene-boundaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/53100\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;House Of The Dragon&#8217; Star Olivia Cooke On Sex Scene Boundaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/olivia-cooke\/\" id=\"auto-tag_olivia-cooke\" data-tag=\"olivia-cooke\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Cooke<\/a>, the British actress who stars as Alicent Hightower in <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/hbo\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hbo\" data-tag=\"hbo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HBO<\/a>\u2018s Game of Thrones spin-off series <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/house-of-the-dragon\/\" id=\"auto-tag_house-of-the-dragon\" data-tag=\"house-of-the-dragon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">House of the Dragon<\/a>, has lamented women being shamed for setting boundaries in sex scenes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn an interview with The i Paper, Cooke said actresses \u201coften get labelled \u2018difficult\u2019 or \u2018a bitch\u2019 for speaking up\u201d when they are uncomfortable with intimate performances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCooke, who is promoting Robin Wright\u2019s upcoming Amazon Prime Video series The Girlfriend, said the industry had changed for the better now that intimacy coordinators have become commonplace on set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to me that people had to just fudge their way through those scenes before those people existed,\u201d the Ready Player One star said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCooke said good intimacy coordinators become a \u201cvoice\u201d for women who are hesitant about filming requests, particularly when actresses are \u201cjust starting out and don\u2019t have the vocabulary to say what they\u2019re not comfortable with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe added that \u201cshowing intimacy, passion is an integral part of reflecting the human experience\u201d and that the scenes can be filmed without actors feeling like \u201ca chunk of yourself has been taken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Girlfriend premieres on September 10. It follows Laura (Wright), a woman who seemingly has it all: a glittering career, a loving husband, and a precious son, Daniel.
