However, it emerged at the start of this summer window that he intended to leave and his heart was set on a move to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/liverpool\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Liverpool<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This saga quickly turned ugly as Isak missed Newcastle\u2019s pre-season tour of Asia and hit out at club chiefs over \u201cbroken promises\u201d, but the Magpies were unwilling to sanction his exit without having a suitable replacement lined up.<\/p>\n<p>For most of the summer, it was unclear whether Isak would secure a move to Liverpool, though Newcastle opened the door to his exit after landing Nick Woltemade, while Yoane Wissa joined the Magpies on deadline day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/newcastle-united-10-transfer-overpays-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Newcastle fleeced for extra \u00a390m as Liverpool stung for Alexander Isak<\/a><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the start of August, Liverpool had a bid worth around \u00a3110m plus \u00a310m in add-ons rejected by Newcastle, who were reportedly holding out for around \u00a3150m.<\/p>\n<p>However, Isak\u2019s poor conduct did Liverpool a favour as a cut-price deal was agreed on deadline day.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/newcastle-leak-was-right-as-financial-details-of-alexander-isaks-move-to-liverpool-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\">A report from Football Insider have revealed<\/a> \u2018details\u2019 on Isak\u2019s transfer, with Liverpool \u2018paying an extra \u00a35m\u2019.
