\n\tJimmi Simpson<\/a> has joined the upcoming Hulu<\/a> drama series \u201cConviction<\/a>,\u201d Variety has learned exclusively. <\/p>\n

\n\tSimpson will star alongside previously announced lead Elisabeth Moss<\/a> and fellow cast members Sebastian De Souza and Adam Godley. The show is based on the Jack Jordan novel of the same name and was greenlit at the streamer in February. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe logline for \u201cConviction\u201d states, \u201cCriminal Defense Attorney Neve Harper (Moss), a confident lawyer, finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral, and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal \u2013 or else risk her dark secrets being exposed.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tExact details on Simpson\u2019s character are being kept under wraps. <\/p>\n

\n\tSimpson previously starred in the HBO series \u201cWestworld,\u201d for which he earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actor in a drama in 2018. He also appeared in the critically-acclaimed \u201cUSS Callister\u201d episode of \u201cBlack Mirror,\u201d with Simpson reprising his role in the recent followup episode \u201cUSS Callister: Into Infinity.\u201d His other TV credits include \u201cIt\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,\u201d \u201cHouse of Cards,\u201d and \u201cPachinko,\u201d while his film credits include \u201cBreaking News in Yuba County,\u201d \u201cAudrey\u2019s Children,\u201d and \u201cZodiac.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHe is repped by Cognition Artists, CAA, attorney Bruce Gellman, and Gingham PR.<\/p>\n

\n\tDavid Shore is adapting \u201cConviction\u201d for the small screen and will also serve as showrunner and executive producer. Moss is also executive producing under her Love & Squalor Pictures banner in addition to starring. Warren Littlefield, who worked with Moss and Hulu on both \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u201d and \u201cThe Testaments,\u201d will executive produce for The Littlefield Co.<\/p>\n

\n\tShore is executive producing under his Shore Z Productions banner along with Erin Gunn. Jordan is also an executive producer, as are Ann Johnson and Lisa Harrison of The Littlefield Co. Bert Salke executive produces via Co-Lab21 along with Lindsey McManus of Love & Squalor. 20th Television is the studio.
