{"id":53266,"date":"2025-09-09T16:15:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T16:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/53266\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T16:15:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T16:15:17","slug":"24-hour-fitness-issa-to-certify-all-gms-as-personal-trainers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/53266\/","title":{"rendered":"24 Hour Fitness, ISSA To Certify All GMs as Personal Trainers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From certifications to hiring events, 24 Hour Fitness is rethinking how to attract and grow talent and meet evolving member expectations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>24 Hour Fitness is taking a novel approach to leadership in its gyms, making sure every general manager (GM) can also serve as a certified personal trainer.<\/p>\n<p>The fitness operator has partnered with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) to roll out the initiative, requiring GMs to complete ISSA\u2019s Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) coursework by the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur General Managers are the heartbeat of our clubs,\u201d 24 Hour Fitness senior vice president of club operations Chris Schmidt said. \u201cBy equipping them with the industry\u2019s gold-standard personal training certification, we\u2019re raising the bar for leadership in fitness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The partnership impacts nearly 250 GMs across 24 Hour Fitness clubs and includes ISSA providing enrollment support, progress tracking and ongoing guidance through its learning management system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertifying 24 Hour Fitness\u2019 General Managers is about more than adding credentials,\u201d ISSA CEO Warren Heffelfinger said. \u201cWhen leaders understand the science and art of coaching, they can inspire teams to deliver an exceptional, consistent experience in every club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>  See Also<\/p>\n<p>    <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/fitness-equipment-market-to-expand-by-over-8-billion-by-2030\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fitness-equipment-180x180.webp.webp\" class=\"attachment-theissue-thumbnail-x2 size-theissue-thumbnail-x2 wp-post-image\" alt=\"Inside of a gym, equipment\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Later this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.24hourfitness.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">24 Hour Fitness<\/a> will host a hiring event on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.issaonline.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ISSA<\/a>\u2019s Career Connect platform, intended to connect ISSA-certified coaches with opportunities across its clubs nationwide. Joint activations on social media and through influencer partnerships are also planned to boost recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative comes as Gen Z rewrites the rules for what members expect from gyms. Analysts at TD Cowen expect younger consumers to expand the overall fitness market in the years ahead, driving not just memberships but also growth in personal training and small group classes.
