{"id":534187,"date":"2026-06-14T02:37:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T02:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/534187\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T02:37:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T02:37:15","slug":"amy-adams-denied-graphic-snl-sketch-to-protect-young-enchanted-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/534187\/","title":{"rendered":"Amy Adams Denied Graphic SNL Sketch to Protect Young &#8216;Enchanted&#8217; Fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/amy-adams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_amy-adams\" data-tag=\"amy-adams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amy Adams<\/a> said during a recent appearance on \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kvsLtz0ibeQ\">Late Night With Seth Meyers<\/a>\u201d that while hosting \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/saturday-night-live\/\" id=\"auto-tag_saturday-night-live\" data-tag=\"saturday-night-live\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d in 2008, she turned down a \u201cgraphic\u201d sketch idea from <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/andy-samberg\/\" id=\"auto-tag_andy-samberg\" data-tag=\"andy-samberg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andy Samberg<\/a> to protect the young fans of her fairytale comedy, \u201cEnchanted,\u201d which hit theaters four months earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019ll give you the gist without telling you the punchline,\u201d Adams said. \u201cIt was this couple [and] he got bit by a spider in the park, and she\u2019s like, \u2018Honey, I love you so much, and now that you\u2019re dying, is there any last wish?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018Yes, I never got a chance to\u2026\u2019 And then said what could only be described as the most graphic thing that he wanted to do with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHaving just starred in the family-friendly \u201cEnchanted,\u201d Adams explained that she couldn\u2019t bear the thought of her young fans seeing her in such a lewd sketch, so she had to shoot it down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI was so keenly aware of all the young girls that were watching \u2018Enchanted,\u2019\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd I didn\u2019t want to be the princess singing about that particular act, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn 2024, Samberg also told Meyers about the cut sketch. He told his former \u201cSNL\u201d castmate that he was \u201creally impressed\u201d that Adams had the forethought to take responsibility for her image.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWithin five minutes, a mother and her little girl walked up and the look on the little girl\u2019s face upon seeing Amy Adams, I was like, \u2018Oh, she was so right,\u2019\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/amy-adams-rejected-snl-song-raunchy-protected-enchanted-1236206481\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Samberg remembered<\/a>. \u201cAnd it was very instructive for me. It\u2019s not something I even ever thought about in our line of work, you know what I mean? Like, she actually has an obligation and a responsibility to those kids, and she took it really seriously.
