\n\tWanda Sykes<\/a> says Bill Maher<\/a> confronted her after she dissed him on the Golden Globes stage in January.<\/p>\n

\n\tPresenting the award for best performance in stand-up comedy, Sykes joked, \u201cThere\u2019s some people pissed off that a queer Black woman is up here doing the job of two mediocre white guys \u2026 but first I want to give them some love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSykes began roasting the nominees, starting with Bill Maher. \u201cBill Maher, you give us so much,\u201d she said, \u201cbut I would love a little less.\u201d The camera caught Maher staring at the stage with a slight smile, seemingly unsure how to react. \u201cJust try less,\u201d Sykes continued.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking to Jesse David Fox for Vulture\u2019s \u201cGood One\u201d podcast<\/a>, Sykes said Maher stopped her after the Golden Globes as the comics were waiting for their respective cars.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was like, \u2018What was that about?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018It\u2019s a joke, Bill.\u2019 He\u2019s like, \u2018Well, I mean, it wasn\u2019t even a joke.\u2019 I said, \u2018Oh, no, I heard laughter. It was clearly a joke.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSykes imitated Maher as he continued to argue with her about the bit, which prompted Sykes to tell him, \u201cSee? You\u2019re doing exactly what we said in the joke. We need less of this. You\u2019re, you\u2019re epitomizing the joke. Less of this.\u201d Sykes chuckled: \u201cHe didn\u2019t care for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMaher apparently went on to tell Sykes that he had been \u201cgetting a lot of texts\u201d and \u201cit was a stupid joke.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen he said \u2018stupid,\u2019 I was like, \u2018OK, now you\u2019re gonna get it,’\u201d Sykes said on the podcast. \u201cI was like, \u2018Well, I got a lot of texts telling me how great it was, and how they don\u2019t like you, and it was really funny. That\u2019s the problem. You\u2019re watching Fox News, and I\u2019m over here on MSNBC.\u2019 Then he asked me to be on his podcast. I was like, \u2018Absolutely not.’\u201d<\/p>\n
