{"id":536414,"date":"2026-06-15T14:48:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T14:48:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/536414\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T14:48:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T14:48:12","slug":"salesforce-to-buy-irish-founded-tech-firm-fin-for-3-6bn-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/536414\/","title":{"rendered":"Salesforce to buy Irish-founded tech firm Fin for $3.6bn \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Software giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/salesforce\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/salesforce\">Salesforce<\/a> said it has  agreed to buy the  software company formerly known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/intercom\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/intercom\">Intercom<\/a> for about $3.6 billion (\u20ac3.1 billion), making it one of the biggest ever deals for an Irish-founded tech firm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The company, which last month rebranded as Fin, has developed an artificial intelligence-driven customer agent that can answer questions and deal with increasingly complex queries. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Salesforce, which is listed on Wall Street\u2019s S&amp;P 500 index, said Fin is an \u201cindustry-leading customer agent company\u201d that will complement the group\u2019s existing AI agent offering. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The deal is subject to certain price adjustment conditions, the US group said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThis is a major win for consumers of the world,\u201d said Eoghan McCabe, chief executive and co-founder of Fin. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cOur technology has defined this category and set the new standards for what great customer service looks like today.
