universal design; urban design, international; and client award. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The remodelling and resurfacing of the face of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/royal-college-of-surgeons-in-ireland\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/royal-college-of-surgeons-in-ireland\/\">Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland<\/a> (RCSI) on St Stephen\u2019s Green was awarded the public building award and client award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">After winning the RIAI\u2019s public choice award on Wednesday , the Little Angels School in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, designed by McGarry N\u00ed \u00c9anaigh Architects, won the universal design award on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThis year\u2019s winning projects demonstrate how good design can improve people\u2019s lives in meaningful and lasting ways,\u201d RIAI president Fionnuala May said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201c[Irish] Architects are working with the State and communities to deliver innovative public buildings and infrastructure that will support the needs of current and future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">This year\u2019s awards recognised 24 projects across 12 categories.<\/p>\n<p>Full list of jury winnersInternational <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Ireland House, Tokyo\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HQOIO6NWMBG2PI3EORS6QSEC3Y.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"611\"\/>Ireland House, Tokyo <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The international award went to Ireland House in Tokyo by Henry J Lyons, which is the realised design of an international architectural competition by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade with the RIAI.<\/p>\n<p>Living home (new build) <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"O-House in Rathmines, Dublin 6\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/3OEQWXPNKJFMPLJOIKLXC4RFME.jpg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"578\"\/>O-House in Rathmines, Dublin 6 <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The living home (new build) award went to the O-House, designed by Lawrence and Long Architects. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Rathmines property features a circular courtyard containing a garden and terrace with patio doors that flood the interior in light.<\/p>\n<p>Living home (adapted) <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Pembroke Cottages\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/P4OBVOMGLNBNDNXBGOTB6MIWZ4.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"600\"\/>Pembroke Cottages <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Greenville Terrace\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/MCZVM7ZQ3BAC7KP4SGPR3UFZ5M.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"600\"\/>Greenville Terrace <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Greenville Terrace by Rachel Carmody Design and Pembroke Cottages by Reir Studio, two renovated brick builds, scooped prizes in the living home (adapted) category . <\/p>\n<p>Adaptation and re-use <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Squaring the Circle, a visitor centre for Inis Cealtra in Lough Derg, Co Clare\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/KBJZD5R4DNFSRBOZ6LQFQTCQTQ.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Squaring the Circle, a visitor centre for Inis Cealtra in Lough Derg, Co Clare <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Three buildings were awarded in the adaptation and re-use category, including Inis Cealtra visitor centre in Lough Derg, Co Clare. The restored rectory, which dates back to 1905, was completed by McCullough Mulvin Architects.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"38 Fenian Road, Dublin 2\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/QJQKJ2ICX5H3BEE2W5R5ILZSZA.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"1116\"\/>38 Fenian Road, Dublin 2 <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Number 38 Fenian Road was also awarded after the Georgian building was restored to provide the Royal Irish Academy of Music with student accommodation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The  design by Lawrence and Long Architects includes protruding white cubes  that provide extra space for en-suite showers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Kilsaran Headquarters, Co Meath\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/V3M26Z6665DEDDMJZYSNEBMMUQ.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Kilsaran Headquarters, Co Meath <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Slid in between an existing office building and a manufacturing plant, the new headquarters for Kilsaran was also recognised in this category. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">What was once a series of rundown buildings is now a workspace where landscape and industry interweave. <\/p>\n<p>Conservation<img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Blackrock Park Teahouse\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Y4DCCZ42PJGHDEJNFAXBGNCPUE.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Blackrock Park Teahouse <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Magazine Fort, Phoenix Park\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/7RBFN7PQLVHDPCLWGOSKRQMFNE.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Magazine Fort, Phoenix Park <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Blackrock Park Teahouse, restored by 7L Architects, won one of two conservation awards, the other going to the restoration of the historic Magazine Fort in the Phoenix Park by the Office of Public Works. <\/p>\n<p>Sustainability <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Vantage Business Park, Dublin 11\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/JQC4TS5QYJEXJF7CNMI23ZAJFE.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Vantage Business Park, Dublin 11 <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Vantage Business Park, Ireland\u2019s first multi-unit mass-timber business park, was designed by Gottstein Architects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">With more than 500 trees and 10,000 saplings, the park was recognised with the sustainability award. <\/p>\n<p>Urban design <img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Bolands Mills, Dublin 4\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/RYADBG2ABVA7BPNLTWIL3ZFPCE.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"600\"\/>Bolands Mills, Dublin 4 <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Google\u2019s Bolands Mills public realm, designed by Henry J Lyons and Gustafson Porter + Bowman,was awarded both the urban design and universal design awards. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Google itself describes the complex as a \u201clivingroom for the Docklands\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Universal design<img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Little Angels School in Letterkenny, Co Donegal\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781817799_123_PZ3NKWKVHJEKXJEJTD52QV4VOU.jpeg\"   width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Little Angels School in Letterkenny, Co Donegal <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Little Angels School in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, claimed the universal design award.
