{"id":542751,"date":"2026-06-19T02:49:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T02:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/542751\/"},"modified":"2026-06-19T02:49:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T02:49:15","slug":"josh-richards-emelia-hartford-among-new-foxs-new-creator-slate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/542751\/","title":{"rendered":"Josh Richards, Emelia Hartford Among New Fox&#8217;s New Creator Slate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFox is dramatically upscaling its creator lineup, adding seven new creators \u2014 and a host of new shows \u2014\u00a0to the company\u2019s creator-focused division in a bid to create \u201clong-lasting, durable\u201d intellectual property,\u00a0the head of the division told Variety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/fox-creator-studios\/\" id=\"auto-tag_fox-creator-studios\" data-tag=\"fox-creator-studios\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fox Creator Studios<\/a> has signed deals with Canadian influencer <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/josh-richards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_josh-richards\" data-tag=\"josh-richards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Richards<\/a>, racing influencer Emelia Hartford, the trio behind Speeed Co, food creators Sorted Food and MyHealthyDish, Christina Richardson\u2019s microseries franchise and Alice Ma\u2019s Mad Realities company. The group, whose combined social footprint spans 65 million followers, joins the division\u2019s roster of stalwarts such as chef Gordon Ramsay and comedian Tom Segura.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFox Creator Studios head Billy Parks told Variety that the new batch of partners represents \u201cdifferent types of creators who are trying different things for their audiences.\u201d He selected the latest crop of creators after various conversations with Fox, agents and the creators themselves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe want to show up for different sizes of creators, different types of content and different formats,\u201d\u00a0Parks said in a phone interview from Austin, where he was visiting the set of one of Segura\u2019s projects. \u201cThose are all important to us, and so we thought a good swath of all those things would be good, and they\u2019re just stuff we\u2019re really excited to make, and stuff more importantly that they\u2019re really excited to make.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe expansion comes roughly six months after <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/digital\/news\/fox-creator-studios-gordon-ramsay-rosanna-pansino-deals-1236625027\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fox launched the creator-focused arm<\/a>, a move designed to marry online-first creators\u2019 content ambitions with Fox\u2019s production and distribution efforts \u2014\u00a0all while allowing the company to tap into the millions of followers those creators have amassed. Such a move helps networks like Fox follow audiences to the platforms they\u2019ve migrated to amid the ongoing decline of linear television.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tRichards\u2019\u00a0deal will see his production company CrossCheck co-produce with Fox seasons two and three of his sketch comedy show \u201cRead the Room,\u201d which premieres in August,\u00a0while Hartford\u2019s deal will see her start a celebrity interview series around race tracks called \u201cHot Laps.\u201d\u00a0(Parks declined to share which celebrities were booked.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThrough CrossCheck, we\u2019ve built a company focused on understanding culture, audience behavior, and the next generation of storytelling,\u201d\u00a0Richards said in a statement. \u201cBy combining that perspective with Fox\u2019s scale and legacy, we\u2019re creating a blueprint for what modern media can become.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201c\u2018Hot Laps\u2019 is exactly the kind of show I\u2019ve always wanted to make, combining high-performance driving with authentic conversations and unforgettable personalities,\u201d\u00a0Hartford added in her own statement. \u201cWe\u2019re bringing people together in an environment where they\u2019re completely out of their element, in the best way possible and that\u2019s where the magic happens. Having Fox Creator Studios believe in me and share my vision for building premium content around creators like myself makes me so excited for the future and to take this project to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSpeeed Co, Sorted Food, MyHealthyDish and Mad Realities will also launch new shows, while Fox Creator Studios will produce seasons three and four of Richardson\u2019s vertical series \u201cBesties.\u201d All of the shows will launch on the creators\u2019\u00a0respective platforms, with Fox financing the productions while taking a stake in the IP. The company retains no final cut on the projects, an uncommon stance among entertainment companies, and its ad sales teams will work to sell ads for each production.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe don\u2019t give notes,\u201d\u00a0Parks said. \u201cIf they invite us into the creative process, we\u2019re happy to do it, but generally we like to get behind projects that they are excited about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tParks said he was continuing to scan several platforms for more creators to bring aboard, though he wouldn\u2019t address whether that includes IP owned by Roku through the Roku Channel, one of several assets soon to be owned by Fox through its <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/fox-acquiring-roku-1236781308\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$22 billion acquisition of Roku <\/a>this week. \u201cRoku is a super exciting announcement,\u201d\u00a0he admitted, though he wouldn\u2019t comment further until the transaction closes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhat he is open to, however, is creators generating content through AI, which have found homes through several outlets such as YouTube, TikTok and microseries platforms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s an exciting place,\u201d\u00a0Parks said. \u201cThe doors are 100% open to all type of creators, whether they\u2019re using AI tools, they\u2019re using animation tools, they\u2019re using what you would consider more traditional kind of script or unscripted formats, all of those things are exciting to us.
