The 59th CMA Awards are slated to return to Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. As excited as fans are for Country Music\u2019s Biggest Night, many are shocked after the nominations<\/a> were announced on Monday, September 8, particularly in terms of Entertainer of the Year.

This year, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, and Lainey Wilson are nominated for the night\u2019s most prestigious award. While plenty of fans can attest to the A-game these country singers have delivered in 2025, plenty more are crying out for Kelsea Ballerini being snubbed. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo Kelsea is wild,\u201d one fan commented on the Instagram announcement. \u201cNO KELSEA? What the actual,\u201d someone else exclaimed. \u201cYou forgot Kelsea,\u201d another dismayed fan chimed in. \u201cThe work Kelsea Ballerini does deserves this honor the most,\u201d someone else protested. \u201cKelsea should\u2019ve been up there right along with Lainey,\u201d another disgruntled fan wrote. <\/p>\n

While Kelsea didn\u2019t earn recognition for Entertainer of the Year, despite the success of her album Patterns, her inspiring lyrics, iconic look, undeniable role model status, and widely attended shows, she did get nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. Still, fans hoped for more for the 31-year-old country star.<\/p>\n

Fan @mary_sheaa<\/a> went on a proper rant on Tik Tok, saying, “Okay, I need to get this off my chest. These are my opinions about the CMA Award nominations that came out today. As a fan girl, starting off with Entertainer of the Year, this one enrages me. Where’s Kelsea Ballerini? However, you have people on this list that aren’t putting out new music, who aren’t touring, yet they’re on the list. And then you’ve got someone like Kelsea who put out an amazing album, who is probably one of three female artists that is selling out arenas, who continues to raise the bar day after day after day. She’s acting, she’s on the voice. She’s doing everything that would put you in that position for Entertainer of the Year.”<\/p>\n

It’s certainly a compelling argument! Nevertheless, this year\u2019s nominations offer the opportunity for a repeat win or an upset. Morgan Wallen won Entertainer of the Year in 2024, beating out Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, and Jelly Roll, which should make this year\u2019s awards show that much more interesting. <\/p>\n
