Goo Goo Dolls lead singer Johnny Rzeznik swears he\u2019s never put \u201cIris\u201d on a playlist and had sex to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, never!\u201d he exclaimed at the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame gala last week. \u201cI can\u2019t, oh my God, can you imagine that?\u201d<\/p>\n

Rzeznik, 60, then mimed calling over to a woman, \u201cHey, baby, listen to this? Yeah, here it comes!\u201d<\/p>\n

He was horrified by the idea of making love to one of his songs. ZUMAPRESS.com<\/p>\n

He then joked that he suspected there were musicians attending the same event \u201cwho have done that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rzeznik married Melina Gallo in 2005, and they share a daughter, Liliana.<\/p>\n

In 1985, Rzeznik formed the Goo Goo Dolls<\/a> with bassist Robby Takac, and the band hit it big in the 1990s with a string of hits, including \u201cSlide,\u201d \u201cName\u201d and their biggest song, \u201cIris.\u201d<\/p>\n

The frontman told Page Six that his finances were \u201creally good\u201d until \u201cNapster came along and then you know, iTunes and streaming.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Rzeznik is philosophical about the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you going to do?\u201d he shrugged. \u201cI\u2019m just really lucky we get to play live and earn a living.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy nominee said he remembered when he first heard a Goo Goo Dolls song on the radio.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in the supermarket at like three in the morning,\u201d he recalled, \u201cand it came out of the speaker at the ceiling, and I was like, \u2018Well, I always wanted people to hear my music, but in the supermarket, I don\u2019t know.\u2019 You know, I felt like I had jumped the shark at that point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rzeznik was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame along with Walter Afanasieff, who co-wrote \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d with Mariah Carey, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle; Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS; Kenny Loggins; Alanis Morissette; Christopher \u201cTricky\u201d Stewart; and Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBad Blood\u201d singer, 36, made history as the\u00a0youngest woman ever\u00a0inducted<\/a> into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
