\u201cA crazy ending to the opening 35 minutes has left Kerry sitting comfortably in front by two goals, 2-0 to 0-8, the second one scored a matter of seconds before the buzzer when Paul Geaney fired from over 40m out into the empty Armagh net.<\/p>\n
\u201cQuite the turnaround \u2013 Armagh trying to play down the buzzer for a last shot of their own, Ethan Rafferty coming forward in the process, but suddenly Joe McElory lost the ball in the turnover, and with that Jason Foley sent the searching ball into space, which bounced neatly for Geaney, who still needed to work his magic.<\/p>\n
\u201cPerhaps a greater lead than Kerry deserved, but their energetic and attacking play has been in direct contrast to Armagh\u2019s slow and laborious build-up. The visitors did settle early on, points from Ross McQuillan, Jason Duffy and Oisin Conaty scoring early on.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen David Clifford exploded into the game, scoring 1-3 from his first three touches \u2013 his goal on 12 minutes coming off a delicious pass from Dylan Geaney. FULL-TIME: Down 2-19 Fermanagh 1-21 <\/b>An extraordinary comeback by Fermanagh in the Tailteann Cup semi-final ended up falling just a point short. They were 10 points down at one stage but they restricted Down to just six points in the second half. But a late point from Ryan McEvoy got Laverty\u2019s side out of jail. Huge drama, heartbreak for Fermanagh.<\/p>\n
First half highlights. Armagh were definitely not six points worse than Kerry but their mismanagement of the endgame there has been so, so heavily punished.<\/p>\n
HALF-TIME: DISASTER FOR ARMAGH! <\/b>Goal for Paul Geaney after Ethan Rafferty pushed forward to help out in the Armagh attack. They had the ball, the were running down the clock but they got turned over on the edge of the arc and Jason Foley launched a long ball down into the Kerry forward line. It broke to Geaney who rolled home his finish into an empty net from fully 45 metres out. That\u2019s a six-point lead for Kerry at the break. A shocker from Armagh. Kerry 2-8 Armagh 0-8<\/b><\/p>\n
33 mins:<\/b> Armagh had to be so patient there but they eventually worked it to Conaty 25 metres out and he speared his second of the day. Almost immediately though, Joe O\u2019Connor drew a foul at the other end and David Clifford nailed a two-point free. Big difference in the amount of work required for a score there. \u201cKerry will play as selected, manager Jack O\u2019Connor welcoming back three-time All-Ireland winner Paul Murphy, the one change from the team that took out Kildare last Saturday. 2025 All-Stars Shane Ryan and Seanie O\u2019Shea return to the matchday panel.<\/p>\n

Half-time in the first of the Tailteann Cup semi-finals in Croke Park – Down lead Fermanagh by 2-13 to 1-9. It\u2019s been plain enough sailing for Conor Laverty\u2019s side, with Pat Havern\u2019s goal in the 29th minute stretching their lead out to 10. Fermanagh got the last three points of the half but it\u2019s hard to see a way back for them.<\/p>\n
