June 22 (Reuters) – IBM on Monday said it has partnered with OpenAI to integrate frontier AI \u200ccapabilities into enterprise security workflows, aiming to counter \u200crapidly evolving cyber threats.<\/p>\n
Shares of the company rose 3.6% in trading \u200bafter the bell.<\/p>\n
Here are a few details on the partnership:<\/p>\n
\u2022 IBM joined the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program and is collaborating with the startup to integrate protective AI tools \u200cdirectly into business operations, \u2060helping companies identify and minimize their security risks.<\/p>\n
\u2022 As part of the partnership, the \u2060company launched a new application security service that uses OpenAI’s cyber capabilities to help organizations identify and validate software \u200bvulnerabilities with \u200bgreater speed and precision.<\/p>\n
\u2022 \u200bThe new service is \u200cbuilt on Project Lightwell, an initiative launched last month to deploy engineers and AI tools to help companies better secure open source software and is backed by a $5 billion commitment from IBM and Red Hat.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Project Lightwell \u200cwill use OpenAI’s cyber capabilities alongside \u200bother frontier AI models for code review \u200band remediation.<\/p>\n
