According to financial data provider CompaniesMarketCap, seven US technology firms were among the world\u2019s 10 largest listed companies, with <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/taiwan-semiconductor-manufacturing-company-tsmc?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.<\/a>, Saudi Aramco and Samsung the only exceptions.China\u2019s corporate landscape tells a different story. The largest listed firms remain dominated by state-owned banks, energy producers and consumer brands such as liquor giant Kweichow Moutai, though <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/tencent?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tencent Holdings<\/a>, the country\u2019s largest technology company, tops the domestic rankings at roughly US$505 billion.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Hong Hao, chief investment officer at Hong Kong-based Lotus Asset Management, said investors were increasingly willing to pay a premium for technology companies, while traditional industries were losing their appeal.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">SpaceX\u2019s market debut this month offered the starkest illustration yet.
