David Corenswet was lauded as a \u201creal life\u201d Superman after coming to co-star Milly Alcock\u2019s defense at the \u201cSupergirl\u201d premiere in New York City on Monday.<\/p>\n

In video footage that appeared to be from the red carpet premiere and shared on X, Corenswet, who plays Clark Kent\/Superman in James Gunn\u2019s DC Universe, is seen confronting a photographer for touching Alcock\u2019s back without her permission. It\u2019s unclear why the photographer touched Alcock, but it seemed to upset Corenswet, who put himself between the actress and the press line.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for the clip to take off, with the original poster asking their followers: \u201cWhy tf would you put your hands on an actress at their movie premiere as a photographer?\u201d<\/p>\n

However, countless others were simply happy to see Corenswet\u2019s chivalrous actions. \u201cProtective cousin moment,\u201d one fan wrote<\/a> on X, referencing the fact that Corenswet and Alcock play cousins in the new \u201cSupergirl\u201d movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood on David Corenswet for stepping in,\u201d another commented<\/a>. \u201cA photographer has no business putting their hands on an actress at a red carpet event, or anywhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third commented<\/a>, \u201cbro\u2019s superman in the movies & superman in real life too it seems.\u201d A fourth fan appeared to echo this sentiment, adding<\/a> beneath the post, \u201cUgh I love David Corenswet he really is Superman.\u201d<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s just a taste of the praise for Corenswet, as the video has been viewed nearly 775,000 times with over 8,000 likes.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupergirl\u201d sees Corenswet return as the Man of Steel, but it\u2019s Alcock\u2019s Supergirl\/Kara Zor-El who is leading the new superhero movie. Per a logline for the movie, \u201cSupergirl\u201d follows the titular superhero as she \u201cjoins forces with an unlikely companion on an interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.\u201d However, \u201can unexpected adversary strikes too close to home,\u201d with the trailer showing her beloved dog Krypto (who became a fan favorite in Gunn\u2019s \u201cSuperman) in dire trouble<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupergirl\u201d soars into theaters on June 26.<\/p>\n
