{"id":552189,"date":"2026-06-24T19:59:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T19:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/552189\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T19:59:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T19:59:12","slug":"watch-paddleboarders-stalked-by-great-white-shark-off-california-coast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/552189\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: Paddleboarders stalked by great white shark off California coast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>June 24 (UPI) &#8212; A drone camera captured footage when two paddleboarders found themselves stalked by a great white shark off the California coast.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla Ross said she and her paddleboarding partner went out to intentionally try to find the shark that had been spotted off the Santa Barbara coast.\n<\/p>\n<p>Ross said she didn&#8217;t realize until returning to shore and reviewing footage captured by her uncle&#8217;s drone camera that the shark had actually found them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We paddled pretty far out&#8230; He said that he saw something and that we had to head back to shore right now. But I didn&#8217;t see it because I was just looking forward, paddling. So I didn&#8217;t know what he saw, how big it was, so we just went straight back. But that was a little nerve-racking,&#8221; Ross <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/shark-stalks-paddleboarders-off-san-barbara-coast-drone-video-shows\/19364345\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">told KABC-TV.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ross said the experience has not put her off paddleboarding and she is hoping to encounter an even larger shark in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The encounter came about two months<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/surfer-chased-by-great-white-for-10-minutes-video-11962282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> after foil surfers<\/a> Tavis Boise and Ron Takeda found themselves pursued by a great white shark off Santa Barbara.
