’80s\u00a0pop star Debbie Gibson<\/a> got candid about her health<\/a> in a social media post<\/a> to her 510,000 Instagram followers on Wednesday after receiving a mammogram in Las Vegas.\u00a0The 55-year-old<\/a> shared a photo of herself in a hospital gown<\/a>, with two healthcare workers behind her as they posed for a selfie after she had completed her mammogram.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Dontcha love my gown?!? Health is always en trend!”\u00a0she wrote in the caption.\u00a0“This is your friendly reminder to get your yearly checkup ladies!!! Thank you to the gals at Desert Radiology in Las Vegas for making health tests comfy and lovely always\u2026and all the\u00a0#healthcareworkers who show up every day!!! Love and strength to all the warriors out there.”<\/p>\n

Debbie’s\u00a0powerful message garnered a sea of support in the comment section, with many of her followers sharing their own stories of resilience in the face of breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Debbie shared an important message about her health on social media (Instagram)<\/p>\n

“Thank you for this visibility and support \u2013 well done,”\u00a0wrote one fan.\u00a0“As a cancer thriver I am so appreciative of you normalizing these tests and infusing with your signature uplift and appreciation of others!”<\/p>\n

“Thank you for spreading awareness for prevention health,”\u00a0said another, while a third added:\u00a0“Thank you for being an excellent role model!”<\/p>\n

Debbie has been open about her past health scares and shared insight into her battle with Lyme disease to People<\/a>\u00a0in 2025. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted to humans through the bite of a black-legged tick, and can trigger symptoms like fever, headache, fatigue, and muscle and joint aches.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The singer received an outpouring of support following the post (Instagram)<\/p>\n

The\u00a0“Foolish Beat”\u00a0singer began experiencing Lyme disease symptoms in 2013 and has worked hard to overcome the illness.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I am doing really well,”\u00a0she told the outlet.\u00a0“A couple of weeks ago, I ended up in an urgent care on the road. Is it Lyme, or is it just overdue? I\u00a0don’t\u00a0really know, but my point is my health goes through twists and turns, like everybody.”<\/p>\n

    Debbie added that it had taken time to improve her health.\u00a0“When I was in the throes of Lyme and\u00a0didn’t\u00a0really know it,\u00a0I’d\u00a0take a Xanax to help me sleep. It started wigging my body out and was triggering something to do with the Lyme, and my body\u00a0couldn’t\u00a0handle it.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

    She struggled to walk during the depths of her illness<\/p>\n

    The blonde beauty recalled that at the height of her health battle, she couldn’t walk, ride a bike or work out, and instead “became a shell”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    “For me,\u00a0it’s\u00a0about being zen and open, listening for answers and yes, being a warrior, but a peaceful warrior and moving through things,”\u00a0she said.\u00a0“When\u00a0you’ve\u00a0lived enough life, you start to move through things with more ease.”<\/p>\n
