Instagram\/@drone_guy650<\/p>\n<p>The predators took turns darting in and out of the animals decomposing carcass like diners at some kind of all-you-can-eat buffet, feasting on the whale \u2014 the latest sign of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/17\/us-news\/terrifying-moment-massive-shark-circles-surfer-off-california-beach\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">increased shark activity<\/a> along California\u2019s coastline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI spent most of the day filming multiple Great Whites tear apart this whale carcass,\u201d drone operator Sammy Rigling wrote about the action he posted on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must have seen 6-8 different sharks throughout the day. Instagram\/@drone_guy650<\/p>\n<p>The area is known as a natural habitat for the great whites.<\/p>\n<p>Experts have said they <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/09\/us-news\/super-el-nino-could-bring-surge-in-great-white-sharks-along-california-coast\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expect more juvenile white sharks<\/a> than typical along the coastline of Southern California up to Monterey this summer, due to unusually high ocean temperatures pushing them up the coast from Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>The wild video surfaces just days after <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/24\/us-news\/video-shows-huge-great-white-shark-circling-california-paddleboarders\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two paddle boarders were stalked<\/a> by a great white, as a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ABC\/status\/2069718153899159801\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">drone video<\/a> showed the predator appearing to track them off the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/23\/us-news\/hundreds-of-people-set-to-be-evicted-in-luxury-enclave-after-city-sends-dreaded-letter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">coast of Santa Barbara<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The two were visiting family during Father\u2019s Day weekend and had initially heard about the shark sighting before going off to locate it.<\/p>\n<p>An uncle of one of the paddle boarders had flown a drone to try to help them locate the shark, but the pair eventually came back to the shore thinking they had missed it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe feeling is a mix of adrenaline and just this excitement mixed with this \u2013\u2013 it\u2019s a big deal. Like probably shouldn\u2019t be doing that. There\u2019s a moment it becomes real, especially when I saw the shark,\u201d Robert Kagan, one of the paddle boarders, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/video\/134160575\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">told ABC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs soon as I saw the shark I started telling Kayla [Ross]. \u2026 We were terrified going back to shore,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said that he saw something. \u2026 But I didn\u2019t see it because I was just looking forward, paddling. So I didn\u2019t know what he saw, how big it was, so we just went straight back,\u201dKayla Ross also commented.<\/p>\n<p>A similar incident also occurred in early June when a large shark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1497877298456568\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">swam close to a surfer<\/a> off the coast of Aptos near Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n<p><a
