A hard techno remix of\u00a0Arctic Monkeys<\/a>\u2019 \u2018505\u2019 has been going down a storm at dance festivals this summer \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

The Dutch DJ and producer Xamuel has transformed the \u2018Favourite Worst Nightmare\u2019 closer into a pounding rave edit, replacing its simmering slow-build with heavy kicks, industrial textures and a huge festival drop.<\/p>\n

The remix has been\u00a0doing the rounds\u00a0on social media in recent weeks, with clips showing it being played to huge crowds at techno events and\u00a0at\u00a0festivals.<\/p>\n

Xamuel first teased the remix on TikTok, writing: \u201cI made a edit of Arctic Monkeys \u2013 505 remix. What do you guys think?\u201d<\/p>\n

The track has been picked up by a number of DJs, including\u00a0TRYM, who\u00a0has\u00a0been seen playing the remix at\u00a0Verknipt\u00a0Easter in Amsterdam, while he also dropped it during a back-to-back set with The Outlaw \u2013 the harder alias of DJ Snake \u2013 at Ultra Miami 2026.<\/p>\n

\u2018505\u2019 was first released as the closing track on Arctic Monkeys\u2019 second album \u2018Favourite Worst Nightmare\u2019 in 2007. The song, written by Alex Turner<\/a>, has long been a fan favourite, and became one of the band\u2019s biggest streaming hits after going viral on TikTok in 2022.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0at the time<\/a>, Turner reflected on the song finding a new audience online. \u201cThe song\u2019s become something else now,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0gone somewhere else.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0amazing when something comes back in that\u00a0way, or\u00a0reaches people who\u00a0weren\u2019t\u00a0there the first time around.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song has also been a regular part of Arctic Monkeys\u2019 live sets for years, often appearing as a dramatic set closer. Miles Kane, who played guitar on the original recording, joined the band for a version of \u2018505\u2019 during their run of London Emirates Stadium shows in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arctic\u00a0Monkeys\u00a0last\u00a0released an album with 2022\u2019s \u2018The Car<\/a>\u2019.\u00a0In a five-star review<\/a>, NME called it \u201ca summary of the band\u2019s story so far\u201d, adding: \u201cThe car keeps speeding forward, but they\u2019ve not forgotten what they\u2019re leaving behind.\u201d<\/p>\n

They did, however, return earlier this year with\u00a0\u2018Opening Night<\/a>\u2019,\u00a0which appeared on the War Child charity album \u2018Help(2)<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n
