Discovery, which has already created consternation within the CNN newsroom over the ultimate plans for their pending new owner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStatus first reported on Reid\u2019s plans to exit, coming as she faced a contract renewal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCNN declined to comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tReid joined CNN from <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/cbs-news\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cbs-news\" data-tag=\"cbs-news\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CBS News<\/a> in 2021 as senior legal affairs correspondent, and was named chief legal affairs correspondent in 2023. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAt CBS News, Reid covered the White House and the Justice Department. Among other stories, she led the coverage of Special Counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tParamount CEO David Ellison has said that he believes \u201cin the independence that needs to be maintained\u201d at CNN, but there\u2019s considerable uncertainty over what kinds of changes are in the works for the network and who will lead it.
