Actor Lisa Faulkner, who is married to presenter John Torode, has said she had to have surgery because she was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer.<\/p>\n
The 54-year-old EastEnders and Holby City actor has revealed she underwent the procedure two weeks ago and she has since had the all-clear from her doctors.<\/p>\n
She said she still needed to undergo radiotherapy, but reassured her 372,000 followers on Instagram that she was feeling better.<\/p>\n
Faulkner said: \u201cI\u2019ve had to have surgery because I\u2019ve had the very early stages of breast cancer.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had surgery two weeks ago, and it was quite a big op, but it\u2019s all good, and I\u2019ve had my results back, and they\u2019ve got everything out, and so it\u2019s all clear, and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve still got quite a bit of healing to do, but I\u2019m good, I\u2019m well, and feeling so much better.\u201d<\/p>\n
She urged others to go for check-ups, adding that if she had not gone for her breast screening, the cancer would not have been picked up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am so grateful that I went for my mammogram,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn\u2019t have been picked up.\u201d<\/p>\n
Faulkner ended her video by thanking the \u201cwonderful NHS\u201d for the scan and early treatment.<\/p>\n
The actress has four children and married the former MasterChef presenter in 2019.<\/p>\n
